1 injured in Mexico ultralight accident
A South Lake Tahoe man was injured in an ultralight accident near Playa Cerritos, Mexico, when the plane crashed into the water.
John Gomez, 51, was on vacation in Baja California when he took off in the 2-person ultralight. The pilot flew the plane out over the ocean for a whale watching tour, where the plane crashed into the water on a failed left turn.
The pilot was uninjured. Gomez sustained a dislocated hip and a cut on his chin that had to be treated at a nearby hospital.
